IT maintenance may affect access to select systems

Students, faculty, and staff may experience periods of intermittent access to some IT services and systems from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 22, during a planned IT maintenance window.

Students, faculty, and staff at the University of Cincinnati may experience periods of intermittent access to some IT services and systems from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 22, during a planned IT maintenance window. 

Digital Technology Solutions (DTS) will upgrade the university’s virtual database server environment during a planned IT maintenance window from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 22.

This necessary upgrade is part of the Compute and Storage Infrastructure Lifecycle Refresh Project that will provide a modernized, stable runway for future data migrations to the cloud. 

Many commonly used services including Canvas and Microsoft 365 (OneDrive, Outlook email, etc.) will be available throughout the maintenance window.

You may experience brief interruptions to select IT services and online systems affected by the database migrations associated with the planned database migrations. 

Affected systems may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Adobe Experience Manager Author (AEM, the “uc.edu” web content management system)
  • Animal Operations Research Administration Portal (AOPS)
  • Animal Protocol Research Administration Portal (IACUC)
  • eCurriculum – including webpages that display eCurriculum data
  • eProfessional – including webpages that display eProfessional data
  • Electronic Reappointment and Tenure (eRPT)
  • Human Subjects Research Administration Portal (IRB)
  • Homepages (cPanel)
  • OnSite Chemical Inventory
  • GAMMA - Radiation Safety
  • Outside Activity Report
  • Research Directory
  • UC Directory (Online faculty/staff directory)
  • UC Treasury Portal (UCT Portal for credit memo processing, PCI compliance, personal service contracts)
