Hoxworth Blood Center launches new Blood Donor App
Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati, is introducing a new, free mobile app that puts the mission of Saving Lives Close to Home at your fingertips. The Hoxworth Blood Donor App is now available to download in app stores.
Within the new app, Hoxworth donors will be able to make an impact by scheduling donation appointments on the go at their closest Neighborhood Donor Center in Anderson, Blue Ash, Ft. Mitchell, Clifton (Central), West Chester (North), Tri-County, or Western Hills (West), as well as search for community blood drives near work or home in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
Now, Hoxworth donors can easily access their Donor Portal by logging into the app with their existing account credentials from their smart phone. Those who have not created a Donor Portal account can create one online or in the app. App features include the ability to complete the QuickPass questionnaire, easily accessing your blood type, tracking and redeeming Premier Donor Club (PDC) rewards and much more.
“We are aiming to constantly improve the donor experience and foster community with Hoxworth donors,” says David Oh, MD, chief medical officer, Hoxworth Blood Center. “We’re excited to roll out this new and convenient app that will allow donors to easily schedule donations, manage their donor profile and feel more connected to Hoxworth and our mission.”
Hoxworth Blood Center is the oldest operating community blood center in the nation and has been at the forefront of revolutionizing the blood banking industry for more than 85 years through research, innovation and new technologies, including the new Hoxworth Blood Donor app.
The Hoxworth Blood Donor App can be found in app stores by searching for Hoxworth Blood Center, online by visiting Hoxworth.org.
In an effort to inspire participation among volunteer blood donors, for the initial four weeks post-launch May 15, both new and existing blood donors who download the new app will receive a bonus of 5 Premier Donor Club reward points. These points can be redeemed for gift cards from a selection of more than 75 top brands like Amazon, DoorDash, Walmart and more. Join Hoxworth in saving lives and unlocking rewards.
Eligible blood donors do not need a smartphone to schedule an appointment to give blood. Appointments can always be made by calling Hoxworth at 513-451-0910 or by visiting Hoxworth.org.
