Hoxworth celebrates May blood donors with trendy tumbler gift
Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati, is thanking all blood and platelet donors this May with their hottest new donor gift.
All blood and platelet donors who roll up a sleeve at any of Hoxworth’s seven Neighborhood Donor Centers or select mobile blood drives during the month of May will receive a limited-edition Hoxworth 40-ounce tumbler!
“We are so lucky here in greater Cincinnati to have a community of blood donors who constantly answer our calls to help others in need,” says Jackie Marschall, Hoxworth spokesperson. “Because of their selfless dedication, patients in local hospitals are able to have hope for a better tomorrow, and we can’t thank Hoxworth blood donors enough for their contributions.”
Additionally, Hoxworth is currently running a platelet donor exclusive contest, Pitching for Platelets, that gives platelet donors the chance to throw out the first pitch at an upcoming Cincinnati Reds game. Anyone who donates platelets between April 1 and May 30 will be entered for a chance to win.
Hoxworth needs at least 500 blood donors each day, including at least 60 platelet donors to meet the demand of area hospitals. For those interested in donating blood for the first time, standard whole blood donation takes roughly 60 minutes from check-in to post-donation snacks.
Hoxworth operates seven Neighborhood Donor Centers in Anderson, Blue Ash, Clifton (Central), Ft. Mitchell, KY, West Chester (North), Tri-County, and Western Hills (West), as well as multiple mobile blood drives seven days a week in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
To simplify the donation process and provide essential information at donors’ fingertips, Hoxworth proudly introduced the new Hoxworth Blood Donor mobile app. Available for download in app stores, the new tool allows individuals to easily locate the nearest donor center or blood drive and schedule, track and redeem reward points and much more.
For more information about donating blood or to schedule an appointment, please visit Hoxworth.org, call 513-451-0910, or download the Hoxworth Blood Donor mobile app today.
